Tyson Chandler will sign a deal with the New York Knicks for 4 years and $58 million, according to Yahoo! Sports. Whether the Knicks want Chandler for his overall toughness -- which serves in stark contrast to Amar’e Stoudemire’s style -- or as a replacement for Stoudemire in the event that they move him for Chris Paul is unknown at this time.

Tayshaun Prince will stay with the Detroit Pistons and sign a 4-year deal worth about $28 million, ESPN is reporting. This is an absolute head-scratcher any way you look at it. The Pistons are stuck in limbo right now with a bunch of overpriced, overrated average players. How do they dig themselves out of that hole? They essentially re-signed a 31-year-old who does a lot of things well, but doesn’t do anything great.

Shannon Brown, as expected, will leave the comfort of Los Angeles and sign a single year deal worth $3.5 million with the Phoenix Suns. According to Yahoo! Sports, Brown fit the general criteria of what the Suns were looking for in a backup to Steve Nash, what with Aaron Brooks currently being held captive in China and all.

Caron Butler will sign a 3-year, $24 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, David Aldridge of NBA.com is reporting. The Clippers basically threw money at an injury-prone good player that could have been used in much better fashion. What else is new?

Mike Dunleavy will sign a 2-year, $7.5 million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to Yahoo! Sports. Tough to gauge the move at this point. The price tag seems high, but the Bucks needed additional scoring and Dunleavy is generally good for that. Come year’s end, this deal will either seem really smart or really stupid.

Shane Battier will sign with the Miami Heat for either $20 million over four years or $9.4 million oer three years, as we noted earlier on Opposing Views.

Eddy Curry will also sign with the Miami Heat for the minimum, as we noted earlier on Opposing Views. Beyond the necessary fat jokes, this move really doesn’t require much in the way of analysis.
