This past Sunday, Bubba Watson hit a stellar shot on 10 to put himself within a couple of putts of winning the 2012 Masters.
About two seconds after he hooked a wedge off the pine, the shot immediately began to draw comparisons to the greatest golf shots in the sport’s history. Twelve hours later, however, folks began doing what we all knew they would – trying to “put it in perspective.” All over (well, maybe not all over) ESPN and Fox Sports Radio, golf analysts opted to throw around the words “luck” and “good fortune,” as well as arguably the most classic compliment-insult ever, “right place at the right time.”
Whether or not Watson’s shot will go down as an all-time great in golf lore remains to be seen, but this much is for certain: it deserves a lot more respect than it’s getting from some outlets today.

It's not even the best shot of this year's Masters.
i'm glad someone mentioned this. the Tiger-loving media will do anything not to give Bubba credit for this awesome shot. i heard that interview on Mike and Mike too and it was embarrassing.
oh well. a new star was born on Sunday, regadless of whether the mainstream sports media wants to admit it or not.
