In a semi-surprising new video released by Showtime, Shane Mosley is shown gasping for air and begging to throw in the towel during his match versus Manny Pacquiao.
The clip -- a teaser from Showtime’s final episode of the series documenting the path to the eventual Mosley-Pacquiao fight -- features Mosley’s trainer, Naazim Richardson, essentially talking his fighter off the ledge after he appears ready to quit part of the way through.
Be it because of the camera angles or the pure, unfiltered panic on Mosley’s face, the clip is very dramatic. Once you get over the initial surprise of hearing a legend plea for his corner to give up, however, the only real news here is that Mosley, apparently, didn’t quit in the second round like everyone watching at home thought he did.
