Come year’s end when the Washington Capitals look back on their undeniably disappointing year, it’ll be the little moments that stick out in their minds. What kind of little moments? Stuff like what happened on Wednesday night when they faced off against the Ottawa Senators, a team they eventually (read: predictably) fell to 5-2.
During one particular sequence in the third period with about eight and a half minutes remaining, the Capitals, a team that can’t seem to get anything right lately, watched fate finally work in their favor as Mathieu Perreault scored a goal in the unluckiest of ways.
You have to see it to believe it.
