Denver Broncos starting quarterback Tim Tebow has a custom Jesus jersey controversy.
Yes, this is something that could only happen to Tebow.
As first reported by the good folks at KTVQ, a new trend has emerged in Denver which features fans customizing the jersey of their favorite new quarterback, instead of reveling in its natural brilliance. Rather than leaving his name on the back in all its glory, some fans (read: sinners) have opted to switch out “Tebow” for the word “Jesus.”
Apparently, the two are not one in the same as we have been led to believe by Skip Bayless.
One mom, Tracy Yown, had this to say to KTVQ on the matter:
"Sports is one thing, and Jesus is another thing," said Yown, who was looking for something nifty for her son.
"I like to have their names, their last names on the jersey. I'm a Christian, but I mean I wouldn't want people going around having Jesus on the back of their jerseys," Yown said.
These folks will feel mighty silly when Tebow learns to turn poorly thrown passes into wine.
Meanwhile, Tebow completed two passes en route to a 69-yard day on Sunday versus the hapless Kansas City Chiefs.
I find it absolutely amazing Tebow affiliates himself with Jesus. Meanwhile in his superbowl commercial a couple of years ago he was wearing a shirt produced by a tampa company who's owner is a womanizer and steriod dealer/user. All of this is a well known fact about malice clothing company.
