Don’t get too used to the current Illinois football helmets – they might look completely different come next season.
As noted by Brent Yarina (via Larry Brown Sports), Tim Beckman and the Illini are currently displaying three different variations of a helmet that they may or may not use next year. The powers that be will gauge reactions during recruiting visits and whatnot, and then make a final decision once they get a clearer picture of how folks are feeling about the options. Of course, if the general public doesn’t take to any of the available choices, the team is not opposed to simply staying pat with what they’ve been using up to this point.
