Six-year-old Kansas student Derby McReynolds was warned by school officials that his mohawk-style haircut was inappropriate, and so his parents cut his hair shorter. The school was not satisfied however, and proceeded to shave the boy's head, which has sparked a firestorm of controversy. Did school officials overstep their bounds?

This is outrageous! In another school, they STRIP SEARCHED a 13 year old girl who brought ibuprofen to school. Who do this 'educators' think they are!!!????? Glad my kids are done with the forced public educational system. It was bad enough when they were still in school, this is simply beyond comprehension.
They need to fire them and take away there rights to teach in the UNITED STATES.
We can not set around and let the school officials do this to a little boy.
As a father of 5 boys I would have to say they abused him.they need locked up for child abuse
Any school officials - be they teachers or administrators - should be arrested and charged with simple assault. This is just another example of public officials think they can do anything they wish and not be held accountable. What those officials did to this child does fall within the scope of simple assault. Then the mother should file a civil damage suit against the officials as individuals as well as against the school board. The officials should also be disciplined by the school board and-or fired and prohibited from holding a job with any Kansas school district. I have no sympathy for these school officials.
