Video: NRA Attacks Obama Conspiracy Plan to Not Ban Guns

In a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) today, National Rifle Association (NRA) Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre said that President Obama’s decision to not institute gun control is part of a “massive conspiracy," which includes members of the U.S. Supreme Court and the UN.

LaPierre said: "The president will offer the Second Amendment lip service and hit the campaign trail saying he’s actually been good for the Second Amendment. But it’s a big fat stinking lie! It’s all part of a massive Obama conspiracy to deceive voters and destroy the Second Amendment in our country.”

LaPierre added: “Obama himself is no fool. So when he got elected, they concocted a scheme to stay away from the gun issue, lull gun owners to sleep and play us for fools in 2012. Well, gun owners are not fools and we are not fooled.”

LaPierre then went after members of the Supreme Court and United Nations: “Sotomayor, Kagan, Fast & Furious, the United Nations, executive orders. Those are the facts we face today… President Obama and his cohorts, yeah, they’re going to deny their conspiracy to fool gun owners. Some in the liberal media, they are already probably blogging about it. But we don’t care because the lying, conniving Obama crowd can kiss our Constitution!”

LaPierre did not mention that Obama lifted the ban on weapons in National Parks in 2010.

What Mr. Allen does not mention is that the repeal of the ban on carrying in National Parks was attached to a bill (credit reform) that the President wanted. It's not that Obama supported repealing the ban, he just wanted the bill regulating how credit issuers do their job, more. The President is no friend to gun owners and if he had a congress willing to do his bidding on the issue, he would have pushed gun control.

That is correct. The bill allowing guns into national parks was part of a bill for credit card reform, which protects all Americans, including gun owners, from being overcharged fees when they purchase their favorite semi-automatic weapon to take to the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.

If I'm not mistaken, Obama supported legislation banning ammo for the guns. He supports any legislation that back-door kills the Constitutional right to own guns.

Liberalism is a mental disease.

The claim that Obama wants to ban ammo was part of a multi-million dollar smear campaign by the NRA (which failed) in 2008 entitled:  "Barack Obama's 10-Point Plan to 'Change' the Second Amendment."

It was debunked by FactCheck.org:

In fact, the NRA flyer, which was part of the smear campaign, was very similar to Obama's campaign flyer, thanks to some deceptive artwork by the NRA. Also notice the emphasis on "Change" one of Obama's campaign slogans.

Perhaps Obama should sue for copyright infringement?  Disney definitely would.

I'd hate to break it to you, but you can't point to a liberal fact checking site to back up your claims. That site is so liberal that that it should have an "ass" print on the top of it. Don't tell me it's not, because you would be full of donkey crap.

Liberalism is a mental disease.

Well, a rather colorful way to draw attention on himself as a nut. But I agree with him..in a much less dramatic way. Obama has always been anti-gun and has voted for anti-gun laws his entire political career. It is nothing new for politicians to back off of their forceful positions just before elections. Politicians move to the center to get elected, but many times move to their ideological corners once in office. Conspiracy is out of place. It's just commonplace and it's a political tactic. It never works against politically aware voters (pro or anti), because they know where the guy stands. It only works on people who don't pay close attention and still vote.
