Video: Mohammed El Akkari Scores 113 Points in Single Basketball Game

While Americans were busy sitting back and reveling in the fact that one of our own, Wilt Chamberlain, had scored 100 points in a single game, a Lebanese basketball player went out and scored 113 points.

As noted by the good folks at Yahoo! Sports, Mohammed El Akkari recently dropped this crazy stat line in his Mouttahed squad’s win over Bejjeh (two FIBA Asia teams): 40-of-69 from the field, 32-of-59 from behind the arc and one free throw. Although a video of the world’s biggest ballhog scoring all 113 points has yet to surface, hopefully this clip of him scoring 109 of those points will suffice for now.

Check it out:

For what it’s worth, scoring 100 points in Asia is apparently a little easier than it is here in the United States. According to ESPN, Lou Salvador once scored 116 points for the Philippines back in 1923, and Jeron Teng once scored 104 points in a high school game in the Philippines on a date that nobody bothered to record.

Still, any which way you want to look at it – this was an impressive feat.

(Kudos to Yahoo! Sports for the find)
