Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant has long since been recognized as one of the biggest trash talkers in the league. As it turns out, though, Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio isn’t as innocent as he looks, and he isn't opposed to talking a little smack himself.
After the Lakers’ 106-101 victory over the Wolves this past Sunday night, cameras caught Lakers forward Pau Gasol and Rubio chatting it up in the hallway. A few seconds later, Bryant emerged from the locker room and asked the pair whether or not they were talking about the looming London games.
Here is how that conversation went down (via HoopsHype):
"You talking about London?," Bryant asked Gasol and Rubio as he passed them in the hallway outside the Target Center locker rooms.
"Oh yeah," Gasol responded.
Rubio then asked Bryant, "You're gonna be there?"
Of course, Bryant said.
"You know you're getting the silver medal. You know that," Rubio needled.
Responded Bryant: "S--- . I'm taking bets! .. If I win I get the keys of Barcelona."
"I bet what you want," Rubio said.
