Video: Iowa All-Star Basketball Team Runs Odd Football Snap Play to Get a Free Alley-Oop

Over the years, basketball teams at every level have consistently tried to find new and innovative ways to get their offensive playmakers open. Given wide array of tricks we’ve seen time after time, game after game, it’s safe to say that it’s really hard to surprise defenses now.

Hence the creativity displayed during a recent Pride of Iowa Conference senior All-Star game.

A description of this play wouldn’t even do it justice. Check it out:

According to Yahoo! Sports, the architect of this play is Corydon (Iowa) High star Bryce Carpenter. He apparently came up with it five minutes before the game. We don’t know much about Carpenter at this point, but we do feel comfortable pointing out that he’s already shown more offensive creativity in his strategizing than Los Angeles Lakers head coach, Mike Brown.

Just saying.

(Kudos to Yahoo! Sports for the find)
