No athlete in any sport gets as much undeserved criticism as LeBron James. The guy can’t win, no matter what he does. If he makes the smart pass and someone else hits a gamewinner, he was scared to take the shot. If he makes the smart pass and someone misses the gamewinner, he was scared to take the shot and cost his team the game. If he takes the gamewinner and misses, he lacks the clutch gene. If he takes the gamewinner and hits it, we’re in an alternate universe, because that never happens.
Bottom line, as fun as it to make fun of LeBron, reasonable people must agree that he gets a ton of undeserved criticism. That should be a worldwide measurement of any given person’s reasonableness: their opinion of this year’s MVP favorite when they’re being totally serious.
