Tottenham’s Louis Saha Believes Prostitutes are a Soccer Player’s Best Friend

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Dogs are a man’s best friend. What’s a soccer player’s best friend? A prostitute, of course.

In an effort to publicize his autobiography, Tottenham’s Louis Saha recently opened up regarding the realities of life for the biggest sports stars in the world. They have it really tough, in case you didn’t know. How tough? Here is what Saha had to say to a French newspaper on the topic of life’s essentials – bling, sex and big cars (via Daily Mail):

“Footballers aren't all the same. The bling, the sex-addicted nature, the big cars - all that exists. But because of that, the bad judgments seem to take over,” he said. “Let's be honest: women are the greatest temptation. For a young player, it's an Achilles heel. They can quickly be taken in, seduced by the girl who will cash in with a kiss-and-tell to the newspapers.

”So it's hard to know who to trust and you become paranoid where women are concerned. Some players therefore prefer to use escorts.”

Well when you put it that way, Louis Saha, it makes perfect sense! What other way could soccer players possibly have to establish profound, honest, non-exploitative relationships with women besides hiring prostitutes? Oh right, maybe not trying to wife up a supermodel, actress or stripper, and actually trying to pick up a regular girl instead.

Yes, obviously gold-digging, attention-starved leeches are out there, but they target more than just Premiere League soccer talents. Somehow a large segment of the world’s male population, even the really successful dudes, manage to get by in life without paying their bedmates by the hour.

The reasons that guys like the ones Saha is referring to constantly need to be wary of predatory women are twofold: 1.) because they want a different woman every night and 2.) because they want them for sex and nothing more.

Random pros and troubled females with their eyes on a big prize tend to be great in both regards. The first group is quick and easy, and come for an affordable price. The second group can make situations messy.

If the athletes actually wanted a meaningful relationship of any sort and were willing to put in work like the rest of mankind has to in order to achieve that, they’d find themselves encountering far less girls “who will cash in with a kiss-and-tell to the newspapers.”

But of course, that takes way too much effort.
