Time to Throw Floyd Mayweather to the Lions

It happens to most all of our boxing champions – the time comes when they are sacrificed, thrown to the lions. It’s the natural evolution of the ruthless world of boxing which is a jungle.

It happened to Sugar Ray Leonard against Terry Norris. It happened to Joe Louis against Rocky Marciano, Roberto Duran against William Joppy and Jack Johnson against Jess Willard.
You see, no matter how great a fighter may have been, the sport doesn’t care, and will eventually throw him to the lions.

The powers that be threw Alexis Arguello in with Aaron Pryor. Jim Jeffries vs. Jack Johnson. They put Mike Tyson against Lennox Lewis. Heck, they even threw “The Greatest” of them all Muhammad Ali to the lions – that was the night he had to fight Larry Holmes.

The sport threw Roy Jones in there with Antonio Tarver twice after he barely survived the first fight. Roy had to do it and he did.

Sometimes the sport tries to throw a great champion to the lions but he is just too clever to be tricked and defies his fate. Lennox Lewis escaped desperate danger and clawed his way to victory over Vitali Klitschko in his final bout. Then Lewis opted, after much contemplation, to retire without a rematch. And the lions had to change their course.

The sport tried to eliminate Bernard Hopkins, who battled Jermain Taylor twice over 24 rounds. But Hopkins refused to be conquered. The judges took his titles away, but because of his gallant and honorable performance to survive, he remained an inspiration and “The People’s Champion.” Again they tried to feed Hopkins to the lions again against Kelly Pavlik, but he was too smart and crafty and outsmarted the lions once again.

For the third and fourth time the jungle masters tried again to match Hopkins – with Chad Dawson and Tomasz Adamek – but the old lion from Philadelphia wouldn’t step into the trap.

Now the natural progression of the jungle sport has caught up with the elusive Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather is all too well aware that the masters eagerly want to feed him to Manny Pacquiao and let the lions and vultures devour his carcass. Mayweather is no fool – he knows what time it is, that the end is so very near.

Like a desperate, frightened, vulnerable animal, Floyd is running as fast as he can to hide from the merciless lions. But he is coming to the realization now that here is no escape, nothing or nobody can help him this time. There is no way to survive Manny Pacquiao who is everything he wishes he could be.

When the time comes to be fed to the lions, you either face it with honor – or cowardice.

The moment of truth is here – Mayweather will soon decide what he really is.

Let me shorten that chain you have just said. Floyd defeated Mosley who was also defeated by Cotto who, in turn, was defeated by Pacquiao. And when Pacquiao defeats Margarito, then he has faced 3 welterweights that Floyd avoided before. Blood draws can have no effect on some but can really weaken others, be it physical or psychological. Steroids can give you a false sense of stronger body but you see, no proof that Pacquiao has been taking that. Lidocaine on the other hand can numb you of pain so you can last longer in a fight, and that Floyd has used it, we have proof on that.

He admitted it. No shame about that. I am a psychologist, a nurse and a doctor, studied Judo, Karate, Aikido, Jiujitsu, and Arnis, and very much afraid of the needle, too. And I admit it, too. Yes, you can call us cowards with regards to needles. But this is not a pricking or sticking match. This is boxing. And as events unfold, now we all see that Floyd does not want to fight Pacquiao and avoided this match at all cost. Pacquiao agreed to the tests and HBO head can attest to that. Sounds fishy to me. We all wanted this fight, and it is not Pacquiao that is hindering this from happening.

Wow I forgot I commented on this article. So now he has over came his fear of needles. I guess those tatoos are iron on. My point was I never believed his reason, and conviently he accepts all of Floyds demands. I won't even make excuses on why Floyd ignored him and Arum because I'm not biased either way. The fact that Manny could have fought anyone else he chose to fight someone that had to bribe Texas to get a licensed proves my point. Pacquaio is not the hero you claim he is if so he would be fighting Shane Mosely and not the man that loss to him!

See thats where your wrong. You have no idea the type of a person that Floyd Mayweather is. The only one who can decide what kind of a man or person he is ultimately is floyd mayweather himself. You dont decide for him. Nobody decides for another man what type of individual they are. That is what your doing but your a sports writer so it is your job to do this. Keep doing your job then.

Don't you worry, Pacquiao vs. Mosley match will never be far from happening as soon as Pacquiao disposes of Margarito. You see, that we can rely on Pacquiao not to fumble with. It is just not the same case with Floyd on fighting Pacquiao. With regards to why he is fighting Margarito who lost to Mosley, I can also ask you the same thing: why fight Mosley who lost to Cotto and not just go to Cotto directly? Which, of course, Pacquiao did. And now, he is fighting Margarito who has beaten Cotto. So Mosley will be next, if Floyd will not step up. I agree with you that the Clottey fight was a waste of time. But you see, Floyd won't even fight Clottey. Give Floyd to Pacquiao and our question will then be answered immediately on who is the real P4P.

It don't matter what or who you think you are. It's the people who write history books who decides how you will be remembered. Just like Roy Jones, Floyd think he can control boxing. Wrong! Look at what happen to Roy Jones, one man cannot control boxing. Floyd is too dumb to see that. Roy is now a side show. Floyd will end up a side show while Manny's legacy will be written in gold. Pacquiao takes chances, Floyd is risk-averse just like Roy Jones. Pacquaio pleases the fans, Floyd's fights becomes disappointing bores.
Floyd first said that Pacquiao didn't call him out, Pacquiao called him out. Floyd said he wants an olympic style drug test, Pacquiao agreed. Pacquiao called him out again, Floyd now said he is on vacation. FLOYD IS SCARED OF PACQUIAO, plain and simple as that. For a FIGHTER to not fight Pacquiao for $50 million shows that he knows he cannot win. I believe Floyd will follow Roy's plans regarding Hopkins. Floyd will continue to avoid Pacquiao until the very end of their career. A lost to Pacquiao when both are washed up will not have the stigma it can have if they fought today, just like Roy/Hopkins 2.
It's people who are a Mayweather Apologist that keeps Floyd running from Pacquiao.
If Floyd's fans start to push him to fight Pacquiao instead of making up excuses, then Floyd will be forced to fight Pacquiao. Then we will have a fight, but don't count on it as long as there are people making excuses for Floyd.

Well. how many times will it takes to throw Floyd to the lions until he face it? Give us some more Mr. writer.

A man's action decides what a man he is. Lots of fools talk and talk but their actions say otherwise or the opposite. Just like Money, claiming and broadcasting he is the greatest. This is talk. But what is his action, the opposite. No you cannot decide for Money, but his action is clear as purified water which speaks for itself.

You are right that only Floyd will decide for himself. Thru his actions, the PEOPLE or the fans saw that he decided to be: 1) DUCKER, 2) SELFISH 3) INSENSITIVE (to the boxing fans) 4) MANIPULATIVE and 4) UNGRATEFUL (to the boxing fans).

YOU DECIDE.

You are another person who is being fooled by Mayweather. Better use your money watching somebody other than Floyd. It is your support on Mayweather that makes him filthy rich and number one ducker. Your idol is fooling the sports as a whole. The best way to do is force him to sign the contract so as not to waste your hard earned money from the ducker and a "0" loss protective fighter. You decide..

Forget the Chain because we both can spin that either way. The fight we want is not happening because by your own admission Pac-man is weak minded. Everyone knows giving blood doesn't weaken you, but he insist mentally it does. How pitiful is that a 7 time World Champion can't overcome a psycological battle, sounds like a excuse to me. Last time I checked those are the better fighters the ones who are mentally tough. Floyds is pushing to make sure his opponent doesn't have a physical advantage and again he's taking the test also. Your man Pac is asking that he be notified when its time to test, sounds fishy to me. Lidocaine is more dangerous to the user, because the ability to feel pain is your body's best defense against further damage. Thats why by rule fighters can't use it 7 days before the fight not for the opponent, but for their own wellbeing. You said, "It helps him last longer" blah blah blah now it gives Mayweather stamina? You sound desperate because i thought his workout regimen did that.
