The trade trade that was supposed to send Tim Tebow from the Denver Broncos to the New York Jets may be off. According Adam Schefter, a minor detail regarding the advanced money paid to Tebow that the Jets either weren’t informed about or didn’t notice may now throw the entire deal in jeopardy.

Jets-Broncos agreed to Tim Tebow trade before Denver asked NY to pay back portion of bonuses and salary already paid to Tebow. No deal yet.
Why are the Jets just now noticing the fine print of a contract they agreed to take on? Because they’re the Jets.

Jets' management looked closer at Tebow's contract after agreeing to the deal. The contract says any team acquiring Tebow has to kick back more than $5 million to the Broncos in advanced salaries from the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons, according to an NFL source.
Tebow received $6.277 million in salary advance during the 2011 season. The breakdown of that advance: $1,213,750 in 2011 (the Broncos paid); $1,425,000 in 2012; $1,691,250 in 2013; and $1.92 million in 2014.
Apparently New York isn’t interested in covering the additional expense. Could this really throw the entire deal into question? Yup.

“More craziness filed to ESPN: Jaguars are back in the mix, seeing if they now can pull off a trade with Denver for Tim Tebow.”
