Former MLB No. 1 pick and Tampa Bay Rays minor league middle reliever Matt Bush allegedly ran over a 72-year-old motorcyclist on Thursday evening.
This is just the latest (and by far, worst) problem for one of just three No. 1 picks taken before 2008 that never actually made it to the big leagues.
Bush, 26, currently stands accused of crashing into the rear end of Anthony Tufano’s motorcycle with his Dodge Durango at around 5 p.m. on Thursday. According to NBC 2 (via The Big Lead), despite the motorcyclist clearly being flung to the ground as a result of the collision, Bush opted to flee. Witnesses on scene note that, in his hurry to drive off, the Rays’ minor leaguer drove over Tufano’s head.

The motorcyclist was taken by Charlotte County EMS to Peace River Regional Medical Center for a MedStar helicopter to transport him to Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma Center.
"Literally the tire on the SUV ran over the driver's head. Without the helmet, the gentleman would have been dead instantly," said witness Scott Sugden.
CCSO deputies, along with Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies and Florida Highway Patrol caught Bush in North Port on Toldeo Blade Boulevard and took him into custody.
According to reports, the arresting deputy said that he could clearly smell the odor of an alocoholic beverage coming from Bush. He continued to describe Bush as having bloodshot and watery eyes.
Also, Bush did not have a license on him when he was pulled over.
Once a breathalyzer was administered, Bush wound up blowing a .180 and .171.
He is currently being held without bail at the Charlotte County Jail.
