Rapper Flo Rida Ordered to Pay $80,000

Rapper Flo Rida has been ordered to pay more than $80,000 to an Australian promoter after failing to honor his concert there in 2011.

Flo Rida, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, was scheduled to perform at the Fat as Butter music festival in Newcastle in October 2011 but canceled citing “unforeseen circumstances”.

Mothership Music concert promoter Brent Lean sued the rapper to recover his financial losses after they paid $50,000 to guarantee the rapper’s appearance.

New South Wales Judge Judith Gibson ruled against Flo Rida, ordering him to pay $82,540 in damages.
