The Washington Wizards are clearly a terrible basketball team, but they do have one shining ray of hope on the roster – point guard John Wall. While there are varying opinions on just how good of a player Wall is, nobody can deny the appeal of how he plays the game. He’s speedy, athletic, knows how to score and is thrilling in just about every way you can possibly think of.
And the cool style with which Wall plays is why Reebok, despite the fact that the Wizards draw zero national attention, will be releasing a brand new John Wall limited edition set of shoes this Thursday, April 12. As noted by the good folks at SLAM (via LBS):
“Beyond the Gold” plays off of the success of last year’s “Gold Rush” release on the ZigSlash model, and more broadly on the success Wall has already had early in his career. For John’s encore season, Reebok wanted to make the package bigger and better, going beyond the big city, beyond the bright lights, and beyond the gold. The details throughout the pack speak to that theme. Packaged in a limited JW logo briefcase, with a FLUD x Reebok “Beyond The Gold” watch and John Wall-branded sunglasses, the package will retail for $200.
