Photos: Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Made Spurs vs. Lakers Mildly Interesting

After L.A. absolutely smoked them four games earlier, everyone figured that Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs would have a score to settle on Tuesday night. A hot, Andrew Bynum-led Lakers unit versus the Western Conference’s top team in an early playoff preview had all the makings of a great battle. In theory.

Of course, what works on paper doesn’t always work in practice. The Spurs owned the Lakers from start to finish and, when it was all said and done, they ultimately came out with a huge 112-91 statement victory at Staples.

Tony Parker finished with 29 points and 13 dimes, and Tim Duncan pitched in 19 points and eight rebounds. On the other side, Bynum -- who had 30 boards in these two teams’ last meeting -- finished with a relatively quiet 21 points and seven rebounds.

Because of how badly San Antonio owned the home team, fans were forced to find other means of entertainment throughout the game.

Enter America’s Sweethearts: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

Outside of that, this might have been the most boring, uneventful game of the season for Lakers faithful.

These two teams are scheduled to meet again on Friday, in San Antonio.

Ho hum. Is Opposing Views lowering standards of journalism (and what's newsworthy) to follow this kind of LCD celebrity trash???? I'm terribly disappointed. I can read this or see pictures of this variety in supermarket tabloids and the Huffington Post or CNN. Why cater to the poorly educated? There are far more pressing issues to follow.
