NBA Trade Rumor: 3-Team Deal Between Lakers, Timberwolves, Blazers

The Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly working out a pretty huge 3-team deal.

Breathe Lakers fans – the move won't include Pau Gasol.

Amazingly enough, the piece that the Lakers seemed most intent on moving before Thursday’s trade deadline, will not be a part of the team’s lone (approved) trade this season. You can't script this stuff.

According to Adrian Wojnarwoski, the Lakers are close to wrapping up a 3-team deal with the Timberwolves and Blazers that would net them Michael Beasley, land Jamal Crawford with the Wolves and get the Blazers something from the Lakers. Possibly Derek Fisher. The only source reporting on Fisher’s potential involvement, though, is TwinCities.com.

Although nobody is saying this as of yet, Steve Blake (not Fisher) seems like the far more likely piece to be involved in this deal.

Update 1: Jason Quick is reporting that it is in fact Steve Blake. There is also talk of the Lakers possibly parting with a first round pick from next year. Stay tuned.

Update 2: Per Kevin Ding - "If Portland accepts Blake instead of a first-round pick, the Lakers could then acquire Cleveland point guard Ramon Sessions, who is younger at 25 and has a contract that expires a year before Blake's, to share time with Derek Fisher."
