Kendrick Perkins Obliterates LeBron James in Interview: “You Don’t See Kobe Tweeting”

Breaking news: Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins is still a little salty about Blake Griffin trying to murder him.

A little more than a week ago, Griffin sent the earth spiraling off its axis when he dunked on Perkins during a Thunder versus L.A. Clippers showdown. The jam was so nasty and memorable, in fact, that it earned rare critical acclaim from other NBA players on Twitter almost immediately after it happened. One of the stars who spoke out about it was Miami Heat forward and The Association’s personal punching bag, LeBron James.

“Dunk of the Year!!!” James tweeted.

Well, as it turns out, Perkins didn’t take too kindly to arguably the best player in the league praising the guy that put him and the next five generations of his family on a poster. In a recent interview with Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, here is what Perkins had to say:

“You don’t see Kobe [Bryant] tweeting,” Perkins said. “You don’t see Michael Jordan tweeting. If you’re an elite player, plays like that don’t excite you. At the end of the day, the guys who are playing for the right reasons who are trying to win championships are not worrying about one play.

“They also are not tweeting about themselves talking about going down to No. 2. I just feel [James] is always looking for attention and he wants the world to like him.”

Ouch.

What do you think: does Perkins actually have a point or is he just being a big, whiny, perpetually frowning baby?
