In an effort to boost public awareness about their Godforsaken franchise, the Detroit Pistons set up tryouts for a new 50-person “spirit section” called “The Power Plant.”
Things were looking good for the horribly named idea when nearly 300 people registered to tryout. However, the proceedings got a little ugly/comical when only 11 of the registered folks showed up at the auditions on Wednesday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
There are a lot of reasons why folks didn’t attend this freakshow of an attempt at generating artificial excitement over a hapless NBA franchise. We at The Daily Heat have narrowed down the possibilities to one very likely scenario:
