On February 20, 2012, I caught up with Impact Sports’ 2012 NFL Draft Class. At the time, Mitch Frankel, Tony Fleming, and Sean Kiernan listed Travis Benjamin, Zach Brown, Orson Charles, Lavonte David, Jayron Hosley, and Marquis Maze as draft prospect clients. As of yesterday, Orson Charles moved on from Impact Sports and signed with Joel Segal of Lagardere Unlimited.
Charles, a tight end from the University of Georgia, was named a John Mackey Award Finalist, team offensive captain, and Second Team All-American in 2011. When I asked Impact Sports for a statement regarding Charles leaving the firm, a representative from the company said, “it’s in the best interests of both parties that this separation occur. We wished him well and waived the five-day waiting period.” Lagardere Unlimited chose not to comment on the signing of Charles.
