Dodgers Clayton Kershaw Leaves Game with Flu

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is one of the best young pitchers in all of baseball. Ok, forget “young” pitchers, he’s one of the best in MLB period. The guy won the NL Cy Young award last year (so far in his career, the AL Cy Young award has eluded him).

Well, today’s start could derail his entire season, even if he recovers from the flu that bit him, which he probably will.

Kershaw exited today’s start, according to Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times, due to the stomach flu.

“Clayton Kershaw has a stomach flu,” Hernandez tweets, basically repeating what I just typed.

Kershaw pitched three scoreless innings and even hit a double in his only at-bat. They pinch hit for him in the fourth, ending his day.

Apparently, he had to beg just to even get the start due to his illness. Knowing that, we’re pretty impressed that he even got through three innings. Fantasy owners won’t be happy with his day though, and he should be dropped in all league formats.
