Disturbing Video: Autistic Teen Gets Shock Treatments

Dramatic moments in a courtroom in Massachusetts as video was played that showed an autistic teenager getting disturbing shock treatments.

The New York Daily News reports that Andre McCollins, then 18, was brought to The Judge Rotenberg Center outside Boston in 2002 to be treated for autism. That treatment included shock treatments.

His mother is now suing the center.

“I never signed up for him to be tortured, terrorized and abused,” Cheryl McCollins testified on Tuesday. “I had no idea, no idea, that they tortured the children in the school.”

After an eight-year battle the video was finally shown in open court on Wednesday. On the day the video was shot, McCollins was shocked 31 times.

He can be heard screaming, "Help! Help" and seen trying to hide under a desk.

The center claims electric shock is a valid treatment for aggressive behavior brought on by autism. However The Judge Rotenberg Center is the only facility in the nation that still uses electric shock treatment.
