New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and ‘Charlie's Angels’ star Minka Kelly confirmed to the web site JustJared.Buzznet.com that they've broken up. Reps for the couple told the gossip site: "The split was amicable. But they remain friends. They still really care for each other."
The couple was frequently spotted in public together. Kelly was in Yankee Stadium in July for Jeter's 3,000th career hit and she appeared in the documentary ‘Deter Jeter 3K,’ which premiered on HBO last month.
Jeter has become known almost as much for his celebrity relationships as he is for his baseball career. He has dated Mariah Carey, former Miss Universe Lara Dutta, singer Joy Enriquez and actress Jordana Brewster. He's also been attached to celebs such as Scarlett Johansson, Tyra Banks, Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba.
Kelly has dated Chris Evans and Donald Faison. She briefly became one of the many actresses to date John Mayer. They dated from September 2007 to January 2008.
