If you bought any of your loved ones a cryogenic cooling chamber for Christmas, make sure to save the receipt.
According to the Sun-Herald, the Cleveland Cavaliers opted to cut Manny Harris as a result of injuries he sustained in a Nike cryogenic cooling chamber he made use of back in November. Apparently, Harris wound up getting freezer burn on his foot while using the cooling chamber -- located in Nike’s Oregon facilities -- and was unable to get help from Cavs teams doctors on the matter because of the lockout going on at the time.
Eventually, Harris got some sort of cream to rub on his foot from a physician in Detroit, but it was to no avail – the damage had been done. Upon analysis of Harris’ injury, Cavs head coach Byron Scott came to the ultimate conclusion that the youngster wouldn’t be able to take part in future team activities.
Harris was cut last Thursday to make room for Mychel Thompson.
All in all, he played in 54 games last year and averaged 5.9 points and 2.6 rebounds during his time with the Cavs.
