Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed in the 41st minute of Saturday’s FA Cup match at Tottenham. Paramedics immediately rushed in to resuscitate him, busily treating the 23-year-old -- who reportedly wasn't breathing -- for several minutes. Ultimately, he was carried off the field in a stretcher with an oxygen mask on his face and medics continuing to work on him.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle and forward Kevin Davies left with Muamba and the medics, opting to accompany him to the hospital.
In light of what happened, the match was understandably abandoned. Players and fans at White Hart Lane paid homage to the young talent by visibly praying for his safety and, in some cases, chanting his name.
As of this moment, it is unknown what exactly caused Muamba to collapse or what his current condition is.
