Blasphemous: Floyd Mayweather Jr. Bet $1 Million Against Broncos Tim Tebow

Part-time boxer and full-time sinner Floyd Mayweather Jr. committed his most egregious act to date a couple of weeks ago when the Denver Broncos were preparing to take on the New England Patriots: he bet against Tim Tebow.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the most controversial undefeated champion in sports threw down a hefty $1 million bet on Tebow, wait for it – losing. The good folks at the Journal did their best to confirm whether or not this blasphemous incident truly took place, but ran into a brick wall in the form of confidentiality rules.

"Reached for comment Wednesday, Mike Colbert, Cantor Gaming sports book director at M Resort, wouldn't confirm or deny the rumblings. Colbert said he wasn't allowed to comment on who bets what but acknowledged Mayweather is 'a valued customer who frequents the books quite often.'"

Mayweather may have won the battle when Tebow’s Broncos ultimately fell to the Patriots 41-23, but he clearly lost the war considering where he’ll be spending 90 days shortly after the New Year starts. I’m not going to say that there is a connection between wagering against Tebow and going to jail, but only because science does that for me.

I mean, do you really think it’s a coincidence that Mayweather’s sentencing came right around the time that Tebow was sorting through his lists, determining who belonged in the “nice” pile and who belonged on the “naughty” one?

Don't be so naive.
