There is no way to really know how much action athletes get from groupies and/or female friends while they’re at the top of their game. Wilt Chamberlain’s infamous 20,000 figure still looms over ambitious superstars, but Tiger Woods’ alleged 121 conquests and Kobe Bryant’s purported 105 scores are probably more realistic.
Now, according to TMZ (via our friends at Crossing Broad), Allen Iverson’s name is about to get added to the short list of players whose stats are a matter of public record.
As part of their divorce proceedings, Iverson’s estranged wife has requested that the former league MVP turn over the names of any women he may have slept with over the course of their marriage. While the specific reason for why this is suddenly pertinent is unknown, TMZ offered up as good a guess as any in their piece:
Tawanna … earlier this month filed documents requesting A.I. "give the name and telephone number of every person other than your spouse whom you have had sexual relations and/or intimate physical contact from the date of the marriage to the date of trial."
It's unclear why Tawanna is requesting the list .. but it's most likely a power play to make Iverson look bad .. in an effort to push a favorable settlement as quickly as possible.
Iverson was always a volume scorer, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up ranking on the all-time list.
On the bright side, at least he’s not broke. Maybe.
