Police in Florida have released audio tapes of 911 calls regarding the killing of an unarmed black teenager by a white neighborhood watch volunteer.
George Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin during a confrontation inside Zimmerman's gated community in Sanford, Florida last month. Zimmerman claimed it was in self-defense, but Martin did not have a gun.

Following accusations that the shooting was racially motivated, the Justice Department announced Monday that it would investigate the shooting.
"He committed no crime. My son wasn’t doing anything but walking on the sidewalk," Martin's mother Sybrina Fulton said on the "Today Show," adding that she thinks Zimmerman targeted him because of "the color of his skin."
The first 911 call was that of Zimmerman calling to report a "suspicious" person:
Another call is from a woman who said something is going on outside her house -- a person screaming for help. It can be heard in the background of the call. Presumably it is Martin:

Not condemning or saying he is guilty..yet. Pointing out the lies that were ALSO proven on tape. Eyewitness states that Zimmerman was straddling the boy. At some point, Martin was on top of him. Screaming for help in between TWO gunshots. So, we will see what happens. No need for name calling. From your statements above, you appear to have justified, in your mind, his use of force. So, have you not condemned Trayvon Martin by making those statements? "The rule has to apply to these teenage punks as well." and "If he was retereating then this kid should have done so as well." He had a 9mm, why would he be retreating and why did he not call the police back on his way back to his vehicle. The other witness says, ON TAPE, "he is right behind my house. He just walked by." This was after he killed the kid. Didn't say he is at his vehicle. He lied, sir. Plain and simple. Why lie if you are defending yourself?
2nd ammendment, several problems with that claim. First, Zimmerman says he got out of his vehicle to look at a street sign and was attacked from behind. Yet, he gave the operator his location right before the incident took place. Why do you need to look at the street sign if you already know where you are? By the way, he was already out of the vehicle when he gave that info, so don't try to use the excuse that he had moved his truck. And who, by the way, is bleeding from the nose and has lacerations to the back of the head from an attacker who comes up from BEHIND you. Injuries suggest that they were facing eachother when he was probably punched and fell to the ground during the struggle. Struggle over what? A strange guy pointing a gun at you. 2nd, the fight didn't take place anywhere near Zimmerman's vehicle. The body was found a good distance AWAY from his truck. Several hundred feet, from what is reported. Shoots down that lie. 3rd, the screams on the tapes are that of Martin. You and I can both tell that much. Screams for help, gunshot, silence..no more screams for help. If you listen, you hear 2 gunshots. One BEFORE the fatal shot. In between those, the screams for help. Sounds to me like Trayvon Martin was fighting to keep this guy from shooting him. He was screaming while they were fighting because this guy was trying to kill him. Zimmerman had already fired off one shot. 3rd, cellphone records prove that Trayvon Martin was on the phone with his girlfriend right up to a couple of minutes before he was murdered. He told her that there was a strange man following him and he was going to try to lose him. He then said, "he is right behind me." 4th, when Black folks are THAT close to home and someone is threatening or following you, we DO NOT follow them back to their vehicle alone. We go home, get whomever is there and call a few relatives to come help with the situation! Show me the diagram of where this kids body was found near George Zimmerman's truck, and I will "stand down."
This in my opinion is NOT a hate crime. All these people that are protesting obviously do Not know the facts or haven't bothered to research them, including the media who seem to be making things worse. All they know is a black teen was killed.
This is a pretty clear case of murder. I hope Zimmerman goes to prison.
