The Green Bay Packers are coming off something of a strange 2011 season. For about 95 percent of the year (random estimate), everything went according to plan. Aaron Rodgers put up monster numbers, the defense covered up its many holes with a certain knack for picking off opposing passers and the squad looked poised to go undefeated. Then they went and lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. And then in the postseason, the Packers couldn’t keep their winning ways going – ultimately falling to the eventual champion New York Giants in the divisional round.
So how does Green Bay look heading into 2012? Pretty good, all things considered.
The Packers will get their bye week nice and late in Week 10, and the only real opposition they’ll face prior to that comes in Week 1 against the 49ers, Week 2 against the Giants, Week 4 against the Saints and Week 6 against the Texans.
Following the bye, the Packers’ schedule gets a little tougher – but not too bad. They’ll have to face the Lions, Giants and Bears on the road, but they’ll also face the Vikings twice and the Titans once.
All in all, not a bad draw at all for a team coming off a 15-1 season.
